T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package Installation - 2024 GMC Terrain- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Tekonsha T-One, 4-Pole trailer wiring harness on a 2024 GMC Terrain. And this is gonna be a great option if you have a hitch on your terrain already because if you ever plan on pulling a trailer or a situation comes up that you need to pull a trailer, having that 4-pole trailer wiring harness means that you can safely and legally tow that trailer to get the light functions. Having this here means that you're able to plug into that trailer and get running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. And normally when it comes to wiring install, you do have to run this up to a battery to get 12 volt power, that's not the case here. This is a super easy installation because there's already a factory plug located in the rear of the fascia. It allows you to plug this in and once you zip tie it up, you're pretty well ready to go. more

Adding four pole trailer wiring harness to any vehicle that has a hitch is always a great option and the terrain's no different, if you plan on pulling a trailer or if you ever need to pull a trailer for whatever instance, you're gonna have this available right here by your hitch and that way you can get all your light functions, including your running lights, your turn signals, as well as brake lights. And that's gonna keep you safe and legal in the process. And this one in particular is super easy. It's got two factory relays that are already on the harness, which make it so you don't have any back feed. There's no potential for that to damage anything electrically on your vehicle. more

Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 GMC Acadia, and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install, the CURT 7-Pole Wiring Harness. Adding the 7-pole wiring harness to the back of your Acadia is gonna allow you to tow trailers with brakes. And typically, a 4-pole wiring harness is gonna be for your trailers with without brakes. That's just the lighting signals transferred from your vehicle to the trailer. But if you're wanting to tow trailers that have brakes, or maybe a reverse light signal or if the trailer has a battery on it, or any accessory that runs off 12 volt, you're gonna need a 7-pole. more

And if that's the case, getting seven-pole wiring while having a hitch on your vehicle is a smart move, especially if you ever plan on using a trailer with trailer brakes. This is gonna be a component required for that to work. You're also gonna need to pick up a brake controller separately, but this is also gonna give you your light function, so it's gonna keep you legal when towing a trailer. more

Hopkins Endurance Fifth Wheel Wiring Harness Installation - 2024 GMC Sierra 3500- Video
Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2024 GMC Sierra 3500 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Hopkins fifth wheel and gooseneck in-bed wiring kit. And when you're thinking about installing a gooseneck or a fifth wheel in the bed of your truck or if you already have one, installing an in-bed wiring kit in my personal opinion, is going to be a must. The only other way to run wiring to your fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer is to run that wire over top of your tailgate. And what that can do is over time you'll get some, especially on a white truck like we have here, you'll get some black marks, the cord itself could get rubbed, many, many times when you're turning the vibrations of the cord hitting the paint job could rub the paint off your truck. There's many different things that could happen. more

Tow Ready Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the seven pole wiring for your in-bed for 5th wheel or goosenecks on a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500. And if you're using a 5th wheel or a gooseneck in your truck, chances are you're having to plug in that seven pole and draping it over the tailgate of your vehicle does work, but if you can extend that to the inside of your bed that way it's nice and easy to plug in, this is gonna be a great option, and this is how you're gonna accomplish it. The spring loaded lid is gonna keep any water or debris from building up in the plug, and it's just gonna retain all the same factory lighting functions as your 7-way. You'll also be able to use this one, as well as the one that's already factory so you're just kind of jumping right off of it so you're just changing location to make it easier on you. Now to begin our installation the main thing we're gonna want to do is figure out where we're gonna mount up our seven way. And generally in this flat area is a pretty safe spot and pretty common for people to put this in place. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Curt custom fit gooseneck and fifth wheel in bed wire harness extension on a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500. Now our customer just added rails and a fifth wheel BMW Patriot in the back of his truck. And when hooking up to his RV, having to plug in and wrap it over the tailgate can kind of be cumbersome. So if you can have your wiring right here in bed it makes it a lot easier to hook up and it keeps your wires nice and tucked in. So if you've ever noticed what this plug cover is on the bed of your truck, this is just a dummy plate but the Curt kit actually fits perfectly in here and you can see it looks just like factory. It fits that hole perfectly. more

Hey everyone, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Trailer Wiring Harness here on our 2022 GMC Acadia. Trailer wiring harness, simply put, is gonna be able to transfer these signals from the vehicle to our trailer, so we can let other motorists out in the road know what signals we're gonna be making, allowing us to arrive to our destination safe and sound. A lot of the times, our camping trailers, the larger trailers, actually block the taillights on the vehicle, so we need a way to transfer these signals from the vehicle to the trailer. Now, this is not only a safety concern, it's also a legal requirement in every state. This trailer connector here has the most standard type of connection on the market, it's known as a 4-way or a 4-pole flat, and this is gonna transfer all of your basic lighting functions such as the stop and turn signal circuits for either side as well as the running lights. We also have a nice dust cap here, which is gonna protect those pins from corrosion, 'cause we don't want any water to get in there that'll curl the circuits and cause lighting issues, it also doubles as a way to secure the trailer connector. more

And this is what our in bed connector looks like when it's installed. You'll be able to take a existing 7-way connector that's on your vehicle, and relocate it here inside of your truck bed. And that has quite a few uses. The most common use is for gooseneck and fifth wheel trailers. Just because those, where the wiring comes out of those trailers, it usually comes out near kind of the middle of your truck bed, maybe a little bit further back but a lot of times the wiring is not long enough on that trailer to drape over the back of your tailgate, and plug into the connector located on your bumper. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2014 GMC Terrain. Here we have our trailer wiring, actually installed on the vehicle. And if you've ever seen cars with their 4-poles hanging out, that's because it lives inside the vehicle. You don't have to run it down and loop it to your trailer hitch. So, whenever you're not using it, you can actually store it inside and it's gonna keep it nice and clean until you're ready to use it. But something that's really nice about this 4-pole is the fact that you do have a molded on dust cap, and it's gonna keep this protected anyway that way you don't get any grim or anything built up in there. more

Hi there GMC owners. Today, on your 2013 GMC Sierra, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Pollak's in-bed wiring harness. You can see here that you've got a seven-way connector and it's very similar to the one you've got at the back of the vehicle. It's got a spring-loaded door on it with a seal on the inside to it protected against moisture and corrosion. And we've got all the necessary signals coming out of our seven-way here that's also available at the back. Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer and today we are taking a look and installing the Hopkins fifth wheel or gooseneck wiring adapter for your seven and four pole with a 90 degree plug on a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. Now when towing a fifth wheel or gooseneck many times it can be cumbersome running your wires to your actual trailer as they kind of live up this way. So instead of draping your wires over your bed while hooked up you can actually fix that with this little guy. The way this works is it actually ties into your factory seven and four pole. And it actually is meant for the OEM punch out plate here. more

Hey, everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One trailer wiring harness here on a 2017 GMC Savana van. So here's what our trailer wiring harness looks like installed, the only thing we're actually gonna be able to see outside the vehicle here is the trailer connector. We have it conveniently attached to the safety chain loops on our trailer hitch, super easy to take off when we need to use it, and it's also equally easy to restore it when it's not in use. So a trailer wiring harness is gonna be one of the few required components you're gonna need to tow your trailer with your van here. So we're obviously gonna need the trailer hitch, but we're also gonna need a trailer wiring harness. And this job is essentially to take the tail light functions from the van here and transfer those over to the trailer, so we can let other motorists out in the road know what signals we're gonna be making, allowing us to come to our destination, safe and sound. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the CURT Trailer Wiring Harness, here on our 2020 GMC Terrain. So this is what our trailer wiring harness looks like attached to our vehicle here. Now, we'll talk about some other mounting options here later in the video, but for most cases, this is pretty much how it's gonna look like. It's gonna to be pretty easy to use when we need it, but it's gonna be out of the way when we don't. When we are ready took up a trailer, we'll simply just remove the cover from the dust cap, and now we have the easy accessible four-pole we can plug right into our trailer and head off down the road. Now this little dust cap here, I really like this because when the trailer connector is not being used, we're gonna be covering all those terminals there. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're going to be going over and showing you how to install the Curt trailer wiring harness here on our 2016 GMC Acadia. So this is what our trailer wiring harness is going to look like installed. Now, granted, we have a couple of different options for securing the trailer connector to the hitch. You can use the dust cap here with the safety chain loops on the trailer hitch or you can opt for a little bit nicer installation, a little bit more permanent by purchasing two separate brackets which secure it to the hitch tube. But essentially, the Curt wiring harness here, it's going to be an excellent option for Arcadia. It's going to allow you to tow your smaller to medium duty trailers. more

These are available on either a seven or a nine foot option just depending on where you want to place it in the length of the bed of your truck. We showed off the nine foot one today in our video. And you can see our factory connector on our GM here. This is a great connector they put here from the factory, but if you have a fifth wheel gooseneck trailer or an embed camper, in many cases the wiring doesn't reach down over the tailgate of the truck to plug in. Hi there, Acadia owners. Today on your 2020 GMC Acadia, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Curt's 4-pole flat trailer connector. This wiring harness is going to provide you with all the necessary lighting that you'll need for your trailer, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps, and brake lamps. This will keep you DOT compliant in all states and has a super quick and easy installation.My favorite thing about this harness is how easy it is to install. You can see here on one side, we've got our 4-pole flat connector, and on the other side, we have a custom fit connector that's for our Acadia that plugs directly into our vehicle's factory harness. When using this 4-pole flat wiring harness, it does use your vehicle's existing wiring to provide the signals here at the back. more

Hi there Acadia owners. Today on your 2020 GMC Acadia, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install to tekonsha seven pole vehicle wiring harness. And this is what our harness looks like when it's installed. Now we do have additional bracketry installed here to get our seven pole mounted up as it doesn't come included. But what you do get with your harness is everything that you'll need to get a functioning 7-way, just not the mounting brackets to get them mounted up. Our 7-way is a standard 7-way that has all the necessary outputs that you would expect on it which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps, and brake lamps, as well as a charge line circuit to charge the batteries on your trailer, reverse light circuit for your backup lights, as well as the brake signal circuit.Now in order for the brake signal circuit to work properly on your Acadia you will have to have a brake controller installed. more

Hi there Acadia owners today in your 2020 GMC Acadia, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install CURT's 7-Pole Vehicle Wiring Harness. And this is what our harness looks like when it's installed. Now, we did add some additional brackets to get it mounted up, but included with your kit, you are going to get everything you need to get a functioning 7-Way. You just don't get the brackets to get it mounted. We've got plenty of different bracket options though, available here at etrailer.com and a big part of why they don't come with it is because each vehicle is going to be slightly different depending on your option. So, they're not sure exactly how you would want it mounted on your particular vehicle. more

It is designed to live outside the vehicle and you can use your dust cap to secure it to your safety chain loop, keep it up off the road. There are zip ties included. You can further tie up your wiring if you don't want as much length as we have here. And you can also get brackets that we have available here etrailer.com so you can have a more permanent mounting solution. more

Curt 5th Wheel Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 GMC Sierra- Video
Hey everyone shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 and I want to walk through how to install the Curt, custom fit 5th wheel gooseneck inbed wiring harness. This is going to give us a simple plug in the bed of our truck. What makes it nice is when we're pulling that 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer, we don't have to take the wires and drooping over top of our tailgate and plug them in at our bumper it allows us to plug them in inside the bed to keep everything contained and it stays looking nice, we're not worring about the cord potentially damaging our tailgate on the outside. It's going to give us all of our proper lighting functions, brake lights, running lights, both turn signals, it's also going to give us a break output, so we're pulling a trailer that has brakes, and we have a brake controller also, it's going to give us the option for a reverse light signal if we decide to hook it up, or if we have it hooked up.Our plug here that mounts on the inside of the bed, they're going to be a durable plastic construction, spring loaded lid so when we're not using it, it stays closed. Nice grab handle so it makes it easy to open. more

Rob: Hey everybody, it's Rob here at etrailer.com. And today, we're taking a look at the Curt Trailer Wiring Harness on our 2017 GMC Terrain. Now, our Curt Harness is to provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector, so we have all the required lights to get down the road when we're pulling a trailer, like our taillights, our turn signals, and our stoplights. Now it's nice the fact that they give us a dust cover so we can keep all that dirt, debris, and everything else out of the connector. But, our wiring is only going to be on the outside of the vehicle when we're using it. When we're not using it, it's actually going to store on the inside. more

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness on our 2020 GMC Terrain.Now, our Tekonsha wiring harness is going to provide us with a four-pole flat trailer connector so we can have all the required lights to get down the road safely, like our tail lights, our turn signals, and our brake lights. Now the four-pole connector is going to be one of the most common connectors you find on trailers, but it's also really easy to hook up a lot of different accessories. Trailer wiring is not only good for trailers, it's really good for a lot of different accessories. If we have a cargo carrier that happens to have a light kit, or maybe we just have a hitch cover that's lighted up, most of them are going to use a four-pole connector and it's a lot easier to wire it in and just plug it in than cut and splice into the factory wiring.And there's another really nice thing about our wiring here. more

Our Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness is going to be an excellent option here for our Terrain. That's going to provide us with a 4-pole trailer connector, which is the most common and standard for the smaller to medium duty trailers.Now the 4-pole connection is going to have 10 for the ground, a pin for the running lights and then two other pins, one for the left side stop and turn, one for the right side stop and turn. And again this is going to be suitable for most small to medium duty trailers. more

Today on our 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins 7 and 4-Pole trailer connector socket.Since the GMC Sierra actually comes with a blank dummy plug already installed on your back bumper, it's going to make putting this one in really convenient. And since it really doesn't look any different, the back of your truck is going to look pretty much the same. I really like how versatile it is since it offers us not only a four way connector, but also a seven way. That way you should hook up to multiple different trailers that have different types of wiring.So the four way connector, that's going to provide us with our turn signals, as well as our running lights, and our brake lights. Hopkins Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Installation - 2016 GMC Canyon- Video
Today on your 2016 GMC Canyon, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Hopkins Trailer Wiring Kit. This is going to make a great replacement for an existing one that may be damaged or an upgrade if your truck doesn't have one from the factory. With this kit, you'll receive both a seven-way connector, as well as a four-way connector, so you'll have various options to hook up to whatever trailers you might have. If you have a smaller trailer, they don't typically have trailer brakes, so you just need the lighting components for it and our four-pole puts out nothing but lighting, so you'll likely be using this one. But if you've got a medium or larger size trailer, or maybe a camper, they often have electric brakes and they'll use your seven way connector here, which has not only your lighting outputs, but your charge line to charge the batteries on your trailer, as well as a trailer brake output.It's custom designed for your Canyon, so it'll fit directly into the mounting location in your bumper, whether you're replacing an existing one that looks very similar to this, or if you've just got a dummy plug here. Bargman Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2019 GMC Sierra 3500- Video
Jake: Hey guys, it's Jake here at etrailer. Today we have a 2019 GMC Sierra 3500 and we're going to be installing and talking a little bit more about the Bargman 90 degree seven pull plug that's going to be mounted on the inside of your bed. Now what this is going to be great for is if you're holding a gooseneck or a fifth wheel camper, you're not going to have to drape that seven way plug over your tailgate and plug it into your factory plug. You're going to have one nice conveniently located on the inside of your bed so you can keep the wiring all on the inside.Now what's seen in the bed, it's just going to be the face of the plug. The lid itself is going to have a very, very tight spring in it. The inside of the cap is going to have a nice rubber O ring so that it seals nice and tight on the inside so that you don't get any water in. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 GMC Terrain- Video
Hi there Terrain owners, today in your 2016 GMC Terrain, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install to conscious T-One factory vehicle wiring harness. Your trailer wiring isn't going to be located here on the outside, instead it's protected from the elements by being stored on the inside. You'll find your connector underneath your cover, where you store your spare tire, and it's stored right here. Whenever you're ready to use it, you can simply unwind it, drape it over the back, making sure you avoid the striker here in the middle, and it'll pinch between our weatherstripping, which will hold it in place, but won't cause any damage to our wiring. We'll close our cover and then shut our lift gate.Here at the end, we have our standard four-pole flat trailer connector. This is going to provide us our left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps, and brake lamps, keeping us DOT compliant in all states. more

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Installation - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Rob: Hey everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with a 7-way RV style connector on our 2019 GMC Acadia. Now having a 7-way on the back of your Acadia is going to be really nice, because not only is it going to give us our light functions that we need to get down the road with our trailer, like our brake lights, tail lights, and turn signals, but it's also going to give us our backup lights, have a 12-volt power source back here, and if we have a brake controller, we're going to be able to control the brakes on our trailer as well.Now, like all 7-ways, this is going to stay on the outside of the car at all times, so you will need to pick up a bracket here. Now we recommend the Pollak bracket, because it's universal design and it makes it a lot easier to Mount up your 7-way. But our 7-way is going to have a spring loaded door, that we can keep all the dirt, debris, and any kind of moisture from inside the connector, hopefully preventing any kind of corrosion. You'll see it's going to have a nice little weather stripping on there to really help out with that, and a little notch here is going to make sure that when we plug it in, our core is not going to get ripped out.Now, your 7-way connector is going to be one of the most common connectors on trailers, and typically it is going to be for a little bit larger trailers that have brakes on them. more

Rob: Everybody Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for factory tow packages on our 2019 GMC Acadia.Now it's going to provide us with a 4-pole flat trailer connector so we can have all the required lights to get down the road safely when we're towing a trailer, like our taillights, turn signals and our brake lights. Our wiring is designed to stay on the outside of the vehicle so we always recommend that you pick up a bracket to mount it securely. It just gives it a nice clean look. Now the brackets are not going to be included with the wiring, but you can find them here at etrailer.com. Another thing is is they are going to include a dust cap so we can keep all that dirt and grime out of there whenever we're not using it. Again, just really easy to get it up and hook up to our trailer.As far as the installation goes, it's going to be really straight forward. more
